Nurse who fought for life with Boris Johnson in coronavirus intensive care dies

A hero NHS nurse who fought for his life alongside Prime Minister Boris Johnson in intensive care has died from coronavirus.

Larni Zuniga, 54, was announced as the latest frontline health worker to die following a desperate battle to save his life at London's St Thomas' Hospital.

Friends of the nurse, who was from the Philippines, have confirmed he was treated in the hospital’s intensive therapy unit at the same time as Mr Johnson.

Loved ones of the married dad, who worked in a care home in Bagshot, Surrey, say he will be remembered as a "true professional who touched the lives of many".
