He said an investigation was launched after a resident reported that an unidentified person showed up at their home saying they had been kidnapped. Deputies then responded to the area and discovered the victim with numerous lacerations to the face, body and arms.

MANTUA - A double shooting in Mantua has taken the life of a 22-year-old man, while a second is in critical condition.Officials said a hail of gunfire rang out Wednesday night, around 10:15, on the 3900 block of Folsom Street.A 22-year-old man took multiple bullets in his chest. WEST PHILADELPHIA - Three men are recovering after each was shot on the street outside a convenience store in West Philadelphia.Authorities say the shooting happened on the 5500 block of Market Street Wednesday evening, just after 7 p.m.Police responded to the scene, transporting one man to the hospital, while medics took a second man. The third was transported by a private vehicle.Officials say the men are recovering from the following injuries:They were all taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and all are listed as stable.

SEATTLE - The North American Aerospace Defense Command says it is carrying out a "live-fly air defense exercise" Wednesday off the coast of Washington state and British Columbia, just days after it intercepted Russian aircraft near Alaska and multiple airborne objects were shot down.The four Russian planes were detected and intercepted over the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone on Monday in what NORAD called a "routine" incident.  As part of today’s exercise, a variety of American and Canadian planes, "including fighter aircraft, will operate at high altitude," it said. But NORAD added that the training is "in no way related to recent NORAD and U.S.

7-Eleven’s customers have reached out to Global News with concerns over having to hand over their government ID to be scanned in order to buy certain items.Carl Spenard said he was surprised to be asked for his driver’s licence when recently buying lottery tickets.“I was astounded,” he said. “She was like: ‘I have to scan your ID,’ that it was mandatory, and that everybody gets scanned.”Spenard said he asked why it was mandatory, but was not given an answer besides that it was “policy.”“They said it was new policy for lottery tickets and cigarettes.

COLOMBO (News 1st); Three 16-year-old boys were arrested for beating a 34-year-old man to death with a helmet in Aluthgama.Sri Lanka Police said that the incident took place at the Kurundippita Junction in Galmatte, Aluthgama.The three teenagers had beaten to man to death with their helmets over a verbal dispute.Sri Lanka Police said that the victim succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital, and he was identified as a resident of Walagedara, Kurundippita.a
