He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

US president Donald Trump has unfollowed former pal Piers Morgan on Twitter after the Good Morning Britain host slammed his "bats*** crazy" coronavirus cure theory.

The outspoken television presenter, 55, has taken to Twitter this morning to announce that President Trump is no longer one of his 7.4 million followers.

Piers tweeted on Saturday: "Update President @realDonaldTrump⁦ has unfollowed me on Twitter, hours after I wrote this @DailyMail column" alongside a screenshot of the mentioned news story.

The former newspaper editor has blasted the US president after he suggested injecting coronavirus patients with disinfectant and using UV light to treat the deadly illness.
