Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Susanna Reid explained why Piers Morgan was not back on Good Morning Britain today despite testing negative for coronavirus.

Piers, 55, was replaced again today by Ben Shephard after telling viewers at the weekend that he had some coronavirus symptoms.

He had written: "UPDATE: On medical advice, and out of an abundance of caution for a mild symptom that arose in past 48hrs, I’ve had a test for COVID-19 and so won’t be working on @GMB until I get the result back, which should be tomorrow." Introducing this morning's show, Susanna said: "We are happy to report that Piers tested negative for coronavirus however he is still under the weather." Reading out Piers' tweet, Susanna said: "My COVID-19 test was negative.
