Four men have been arrested after sheep were found slaughtered and butchered at a suspected homemade abattoir. Police urged members of the public to beware of illegal meat sellers after the grim discovery was made at a house in Scunthorpe yesterday.
The sheep are believed to have been stolen from farmland and the men, aged 22, 29, 30 and 54 have been arrested on suspicion of theft.
A police cordon was set up in Axeholme Road while officers carried out investigations after reports of suspicious activity in the area.
The incident comes just two days after police discovered an illegal abattoir at a house in the Telford, Shropshire where seven men were arrested, Grimsby Live reports.
