Premier League captains have confirmed their “Players Together” charity has been set up to support the NHS’ battle against coronavirus.
Top-flight footballers have come under pressure to do their bit as clubs have placed non-playing staff on furlough. Liverpoolbacktracked from their decision earlier this week due to the backlash they suffered.
But captain Jordan Henderson and the other 19 Premier League captains have set up their own initiative, launched on Twitter with #PlayersTogether.
