Premier League players furious at prospect of gruelling fixture pile-up amid coronavirus crisis

Premier League and EFL footballers have expressed their anger at the idea of playing up to three games in five days when elite football finally returns.

Owing to contractual and legal obligations, the league would technically need to finish by June 30, which would mean cramming in fixtures to meet the deadline, according to the Daily Mail.

But players are furious at the proposal, while they have also been informed that it is most likely that games will played behind-closed-doors.

From the Premier League to League Two, clubs have around 10 fixtures to complete, with football not set to resume until May at the earliest.
