Prince William raised concerns on Tuesday when he was absent from a high profile Royal engagement. The Prince of Wales had been scheduled to give a reading, however the palace has now confirmed his absence is unconnected to a close pal's death.It comes following the sad news on Tuesday night that Thomas Kingston, the husband of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent’s daughter Lady Gabriella Kingston, has sadly died at the age of 45 as King Charles sent his condolences.The 45-year-old was found dead on Sunday evening at an address in Gloucestershire.
The Palace confirmed William was absent due to "a personal matter" clarifying it wasn't related to Kate's recovery after abdominal surgery, the Mirror reports.A source said: "The Princess of Wales continues to be doing well." Camilla instead led the service on Tuesday for the last King of Greece, who was William's godfather.
King Charles also missed the service held at St George's Chapel following his cancer diagnosis, with him undergoing specialist treatment.
He continues not to carry out public duties in light of his health.Following the sad news of the death of Thomas, a statement on behalf of Lady Gabriella Kingston, Mr Martin and Mrs Jill Kingston, Mrs Joanna Connolly and Mrs Emma Murray said: “It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother.“Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him.
