There are fears that pubs could go bankrupt due to the two-metre social distancing rule. Under new proposals released yesterday to help kickstart the hospitality industry again, drinking at the bar could be stopped among other restrictions.
Now the chief executive of a brewery has warned that pubs will go will be forced out of business if staff and customers have to keep two metres apart.
Andy Wood of Adnams brewery said the rule will make it "very difficult" for pubs to operate and suggested a reduction to one metre as long as it does not come at the expense of people’s safety.
