During the visit, The Queen toured the new centre and met some of the Cancer Centre’s supporters. The Royal United Hospital (RUH) provides cancer services to over 500,000 people in the South West and is one of the largest cancer centres in the region.
The Queen's visit comes after both King Charles and the Princess of Wales were diagnosed with cancer. In the months that have followed, the Queen has taken a huge step up in not only supporting her own charities, but also representing the King. This is the latest in a line of engagements at cancer centres which have been made this year by the Royal Family.Thankfully, the King's recovery continues to go well as he previously joked about being forced to take some rest.
