Her Majesty the Queen's historic coronavirus broadcast was watched by an incredible 24 million people last night. Figures from across a number of different channels, all of which were broadcasting the speech, show a combined total of 24 million viewers.
The BBC led with more than 14 million viewers, with ITV, Channel Four, Channel Five, BBC News and Sky News also brodcasting.
The figures were added up by Darren McCaffery, Political Editor at Euronews. Prime Minister Boris Johnson's address on the 24th March was watched by just over 27 million.
Speaking from Windsor Castle, the Queen poured praise on the UK's "national spirit", and reassured viewers that better days are to come.
