The government has announced the UK coronavirus lockdown will be extended for at least another three weeks. Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is standing in for Prime Minister Boris Johnson who himself is recovering from coronavirus, announced the extension of the social distancing measures during the daily government briefeing.
He said relaxing the lockdown would risk a significant increase in the spread of coronavirus. Mr Raab added: “Earlier today I chaired meetings of the Cabinet and Cobra to consider the advice from Sage on the impact of the existing social distancing measures. “There are indications that the measures we have put in place have been successful in slowing down the spread of this virus.
