A police officer was forced to fend off a shocking attack by a member of the public as he tried to tackle lockdown louts.The officer was grabbed by the throat by a man after police turned up to speak to a crowd of people gathered in a street in East Lothian.The shocking footage comes as Police Scotland issued an appeal to Scots to observe corona lockdown rules – with more than 1600 fixed penalty notices and 78 arrests across the country issued to those flouting the lifesaving measures.Police have also issued more than 4000 orders to disperse after finding people in breach of the rules.The drama in Prestonpans kicked off after crowds gathered to protest at an alleged sex offender in their street.
