CAMDEN, N.J. - A New Jersey man has been sentenced to more than six years in federal prison after exchanging sexually explicit videos and images with a 13-year-old New York girl and later paying $20,000 in bitcoin to have her killed, eventually calling it off.John Michael Musbach, 34, of Haddonfield, received his 78-month prison term Tuesday during a court hearing in Camden, according to federal prosecutors.

He will also have to serve three years of supervised release after prison.Musbach pleaded guilty in February to using interstate commerce facilities in the commission of a murder-for-hire plot.He began communicating online with the girl in 2015 and eventually began using those chats to request and receive sexually explicit videos and photographs of the girl, and send her similar videos and images of himself.

The girl’s parents discovered the nature of the chats and notified law enforcement in New York state, where they lived.Musbach was arrested on child pornography charges in March 2016 and pleaded guilty to child endangerment in October 2017.

He received a two-year suspended prison sentence and was placed on lifetime parole.In May 2016, Musbach started communicating with the administrator of a murder-for-hire site on the darknet, while his criminal case was pending, officials have said.

NORTH WILDWOOD, NJ. - North Wildwood fire crews responded to a house fire that caused one fatality on Thursday afternoon.Authorities say fire crews responded to a reported structure fire at 2203 New York Avenue at 4:16 p.m., and police officers on the scene informed them of a potential victim trapped inside. Firefighters on scene described the structure as a 1 ½ story residence with smoke and fire showing. Fire crews initiated an aggressive interior fire attack as a search for people began and firefighters found a victim in a rear bedroom after four minutes, according to officials.Authorities say firefighters evacuated the victim through a window, then moved them to a stretcher and initiated CPR. Group sought for spate of gunpoint abductions, robberies in Philadelphia: police

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities in Philadelphia are investigating a spate of violent abductions and robberies that they believe may have been carried out by members of the same group.The Philadelphia Police Department's Special Victim's Unit outlined three incidents that happened within a 24-hour period between Tuesday and Wednesday. Authorities say a woman was walking along the 1200 block of Academy Road around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday when she was robbed at gunpoint and forced into a U-Haul van by four gunmen. Several items were taken from the victim, according to police, and she was punched in the face and shot at twice as she exited the U-Haul van. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESA short time later, investigators say a man was using a drive-thru ATM machine at a TD Bank of the 6300 block of Roosevelt Boulevard when he was boxed in by a U-Haul cargo van. Two gunmen exited the van and demanded the victim to withdraw money from the ATM before stealing his 2011 Mercades-Benz. The suspects in both incidents are described by police as 3-4 Black males in the late teens or early 20s.

Police: Man, 22, dies at hospital after being shot multiple times in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA - A young man has died at a Philadelphia hospital after being shot multiple times, police say. According to authorities, the shooting erupted on the 3100 block of North Stillman Street in the North Philadelphia section of the city on Tuesday at 9:42 p.m. Police say officers with the 39th District responded and found a 22-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his head, chest and back. The victim, later identified as Nadir Smith of North Philadelphia, was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 11 p.m. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESOfficials say the scene was held, no weapon was recovered and no arrest was made.
