Sports Direct to defy coronavirus lockdown order by staying open

Sports Direct say all will remain open because store "sells essential fitness gear, making it a vital asset" during the UK's national shutdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In an email seen by the PA news agency, Mike Ashley's Frasers Group, which includes Sports Direct and Evans Cycles, wrote to all workers within 30 minutes of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's decision to shut down all non-essential retailers.
