WASHINGTON - Chrysler-parent Stellantis has recalled more than 132,000 Jeep Cherokee vehicles over the risk of fire, telling owners to park their SUVs outside in the meantime.The recall, announced on Tuesday, impacts certain model year 2014-2016 Jeep Cherokee vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.An electrical short in the power liftgate module could lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off, according to a notice from the NHTSA. The recall affects 132,099 vehicles previously repaired during a 2015 recall."Owners should park their vehicles outside and away from structures and other vehicles until the recall has been remedied," a notice from the NHTSA reads. Alabama couple who welcomed a rare set of quadruplets in March are hopeful they will get to bring all four of their babies home soon. Michael and Hannah Carmack found out they’d be expecting quadruplets last Halloween during an ultrasound visit and all they could do was laugh in disbelief. "All of our emotions hit. Really not knowing what to think and all I could do was put my hands on my head and kind of laugh in disbelief like, is this real?" PHILADELPHIA - The Pennsylvania State Police provided updated totals on recent road-rage related shootings, and they're asking for the public's help in investigating and preventing interstate shootings. In the last three years, authorities say there has been an increase in the number of road rage-related shootings on the interstates surrounding Philadelphia. In 2020, Pennsylvania State Police say they investigated only four interstate shootings, but in 2022, that number spiked to 20. Officials say this year is on pace to match or surpass last year's totals with troopers reporting that they've already responded to ten interstate shootings. There have been a total of 40 reported road rage-related shootings since 2020 and of those 40, eight victims were struck by gunfire, according to State Police.

WASHINGTON - Two staff members were assaulted with a baseball bat at the office of Virginia Congressman Gerry Connolly Monday afternoon. Connolly said in a statement that an individual with a baseball bat entered his office and asked for him, before attacking two members of his staff. Police were on the scene Monday afternoon at the congressman's district office at 10680 Main Street in Fairfax, VA, investigating the incident. The two victims are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The suspect has been identified as Xuan-Kha Tran Pham, 49, of Fairfax.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - A stroll along the Texas coastline may provide you with sights of sargassum seaweed, but on rare occasions, beachgoers have stumbled upon cargo from a World War II-era shipwreck that continues to occasionally float ashore.Visitors at Mustang Island State Park, outside of Corpus Christi, Texas, are the latest to discover one of the unassuming bales that were washed ashore by the currents of the Gulf of Mexico.A park ranger took to the site’s social media to show off the discovery and to point out that there is always the chance of something more substantial than a seashell or a patch of seaweed on the sand.According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, it is running off the assumption the bale is tied to similar discoveries over the years across the Gulf Coast as well as Central and South America.March 30, 2022: A mass of rubber washed ashore South Texas (Padre Island National Seashore / FOX Weather) Jace Tunnell, a reserve director at the University of Texas’s Marine Science Institute, has studied several of these sightings and previously tied occurrences to an old shipwreck off of Brazil."These are folded rubber mats that have been put together and then wrapped again with a big one. FARMINGTON, N.M. - At least three people were dead and multiple others wounded Monday after a shooting in Farmington, New Mexico, police said, and schools citywide were put on lockdown."There are multiple civilian victims," Farmington police reported via Facebook, adding that one suspect "was confronted and killed on scene."Two officers were shot including a member of the city police and one with the New Mexico State Police, the message said.
