© Barry Batchelor Entertainer Eddie Large unveils a plaque commemorating British-born comedian Bob Hope – exactly ayear after his death – at St Georges Park in Bristol.
Hope, who died of pneumonia at his home in Toluca Lake, California, two months after his 100th birthday, lived in Bristol for two years when he was a small child before moving to America with his family at the age of four.
Hundreds of mourners have lined the streets to pay their respects to comedy great Eddie Large. Members of the public carefully followed social distancing guidelines to applaud as the hearse carrying the comedian’s coffin drove down Portishead High Street to South Bristol Crematorium.
