On top of that, all the student athletes who now have to figure out what happens next."Cabrini University will graduate its final class in May 2024," Cabrini University President Helen Drinan said.When word came down that, after 66 years, Cabrini would close and Villanova would buy the land from the struggling school, Jaden Dickerson was crushed. "Your world goes into a question mark and you wonder what’s next.

And, that uncertainty is one of the hardest things, because you’re always thinking what’s gonna happen?"Dickerson just finished his sophomore year, playing both baseball and basketball for his beloved school.

University of Delaware agrees to settle class-action suit over COVID campus shutdown

DOVER, Del. - The University of Delaware has agreed to pay $6.3 million to settle a lawsuit over its campus shutdown in 2020 and the halting of in-person classes because of the coronavirus pandemic.According to court papers that were filed this month and signed by the plaintiffs and university president Dennis Assanis, some 21,000 current and former students could receive cash reimbursements.While agreeing to settle the case, the university continues to deny all allegations of wrongdoing.Court records indicate that the university reached an agreement in principle in late April, less than a month after a federal judge ruled that the case could proceed as a class action on behalf of thousands of students who were enrolled and paid tuition in the spring semester of 2020, when the campus was shut down. Officials: 3-year-old dies of self-inflicted gunshot wound in Trenton

PHILADELPHIA - Prosecutors in Mercer County say a 3-year-old died Wednesday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.Authorities were called to a property on Princeton Avenue in Trenton for reports of a child suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The 3-year-old was pronounced dead at Capital Health Hospital, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. A firearm was recovered at the scene and authorities say there is no threat to the public. No arrests were immediately reported, but authorities have launched an investigation to discover how the child got their hands on a firearm.Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora called the child's death a "horrific act" that "calls to mind the senselessness of gun deaths and innocent children in harm’s way."

Christopher Fitzgerald Way: Temple University block to be renamed after sergeant killed in line of duty

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University is set to honor the first campus police officer killed in the line of duty with a street renaming. Investigators say the 31-year-old officer was on patrol alone on February 18 on the 1700 block of Montgomery Avenue when he saw three young people wearing masks and dark clothes. Authorities say he attempted to investigate their activity due to a rise in robberies in the area. Officials say Fitzgerald radioed dispatchers that he was in a foot chase with the three individuals.
