UK coronavirus holiday ban extended indefinitely throwing plans into chaos

Hundreds of thousands of Brits have had their holiday plans thrown into chaos after the country's travel ban was extended indefinitely.

The ban was introduced to help prevent the global spread of the deadly coronavirus disease. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office initially advised British citizens against all non-essential travel worldwide, with this advice coming into effect from Tuesday March 17 for a period of 30 days.

That means the travel advice had been due to end later this month – but there is now no indication on when people may be able to head off abroad.

It raises the likelihood that mass cancellations of flights and holiday bookings will extend into the summer. The foreign travel advice section of the Government's website
