Unusual symptom of rare cancer as only 1,000 people are diagnosed every year

A Glasgow father-of-two, Yasir Masood, was given just a few months to live after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, has shared the usual symptoms he experienced.

He received his diagnosis in January 2023 after visiting his doctor due to itchy skin.Masood was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare form of bile duct cancer.

As per Cancer Research UK, the disease occurs when abnormal cells in the bile duct multiply and spread uncontrollably.These cells can eventually invade other healthy parts of the body, such as the gallbladder and pancreas.

Bile ducts are small tubes that connect different organs, including the liver and gallbladder. They also play a role in our digestive system, allowing a fluid called bile to move from the liver and gallbladder into the small intestine, where it aids in digesting fats in food.
