A driver has been taken to hospital after a car careered off a country road in Rochdale and flipped over. It's thought the man may have suffered a medical episode at the wheel of the red Mini moments before the crash on Edenfield Road in Red Lumb.
An air ambulance and other emergency services were called to the scene around 9.30am today. The road was closed for a number of hours.
Fellow motorist Paul Ellison witnessed the crash. He said he rushed to help the driver alongside an off-duty firefighter and found him unconscious and not breathing. "I was driving behind him, there was one car between us, when it happened," said Paul.
