Four taken to hospital after horror crash in Bolton

Four people have been taken to hospital following a crash in Bolton tonight. It followed a collision between two vehicles on St Helens Road.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene at around 7pm. Pictures from the scene showed a large section of St Helens Road was cordoned off and two badly damaged saloon cars, one of which had ended up on a pavement.

Two air ambulances were also dispatched to the scene. Firefighters remained at the scene as an investigation into the crash began tonight.

Four people were taken to hospital, although their conditions have not been released. "Two fire engines from Farnworth and Hindley fire stations quickly arrived at the scene, which involved two vehicles.
