PHILADELPHIA - A coastal storm moving across the Delaware Valley will lead to two days of wet weather in the area. FOX 29's Sue Serio says the storm is dumping rain on most of the area Monday morning as the mountains are getting hit with some snow. By the late morning, the rain will continue and linger into the afternoon. Overnight into Tuesday, wet weather will stop due to the storm's rotation over the area.

COLOMBO (News1st):  The quality of the air in Colombo has dropped to unhealthy levels The Central Environmental Authority says. The value of the air quality indicators has increased to 124 units says Deputy Director General of the Central Environmental Authority Sanjaya Ratnayake. However, as of 11 AM on Saturday (11) the AQI had increased to 155 units. These units represent the amount of dust particles present per cubic meter of the atmosphere explained Ratnayake. He also says they believe that a change in the wind pattern blowing into the country from India has given rise to this situation.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Attorneys for Alex Murdaugh on Thursday filed a notice to appeal his convictions for the murder of his wife and son along with his life sentence.The trial in rural South Carolina lasted six weeks and included more than 75 witnesses, but culminated in a jury taking less than three hours to find the 54-year-old Murdaugh guilty last week.Murdaugh called 911 on the evening of June 7, 2021, saying he found his son and wife dead when he returned home from a one-hour visit with his mother, who has dementia.Authorities said Paul Murdaugh, 22, was shot twice with a shotgun, each round loaded with different sized shot, while Maggie Murdaugh, 52, was struck with four or five bullets from a rifle. (ACCT Philly )PHILADELPHIA - Animal control authorities in Philadelphia are warning residents about the dangers of abandoning animals & pets after a caiman was discovered in a local park. According to the Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly), police called the agency on Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. to report the reptile, which was abandoned in FDR Park. Agency officials were able to recover the reptile from the park with no injuries. "If you are struggling to keep your pet, or have decided that having an animal who will grow to be 5 feet long, live up to 40 years, and requires a minimum small studio apartment that is half water (kept at a minimum of 70 degrees) was not the wisest decision you made, please DO NOT simply release them," ACCT Philly wrote on Facebook.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are seeking three more suspects after they arrested one for a carjacking that they say ended in a police pursuit. On Saturday, around 9 p.m., officers from the 6th district responded to the 1200 block of Poplar Street for a carjacking. When responding officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the victim about the stolen car information and the description for the suspects. When one of the officers went over the radio to inform the district of the car details, another officer observed the stolen car traveling southbound on Broad Street. Authorities say the officer activated his lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the stolen car when the offenders took off at a high rate of speed. MORE HEADLINES The pursuit ended at 700 Chester Pike in Prospect Park after the offenders crashed into a fence, according to police. After the crash, police say four offenders fled from the car, but one suspect was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.
