People are continuing to ignore social distancing measures, despite repeated calls from the police to stay at home. One photograph taken on Sunday shows a large group of people gathering at a pitch to play football in Rusholme.
Residents have reported seeing up to 15 people meeting up at the court off Great Southern Street several times a day. One witness who sent the pictures into the M.E.N.
said the group "believe social distancing doesn't apply to them". The pictures emerged after a senior police officer for Greater Manchester Police issued a plea for people to stay at home this weekend.
Assistant Chief Constable Russ Jackson told the M.E.N. the force had seen a large spike in the number of house parties and gatherings.
