After undergoing countless operations on a broken eye socket, British middleweight prospect Anthony Ogogo was forced to call time on his boxing career prematurely in March 2019.
The Olympic bronze medallist, aged 30, had not yet fulfilled his dream of tasting world glory on the professional scene, but the serious risk of permanent damage to his eyesight left him with no choice but to hang up the gloves for good.
Understandably, there were dark days ahead for Ogogo. Before slumping to his first defeat against Craig Cunningham in October 2016, the bout in which he suffered the career-ending injury, a $5million world-title shot was on the horizon.
