Good Morning Britain 's Dr Hilary called the new coronavirus antibody tests a "game changer" on the show alongside Lorraine Kelly on Monday.
He explained why the brand new tests are different from previous attempts, and called the breakthrough "good news". It comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to address the nation on Sunday to reveal how the government intends to begin easing the lockdown.
Dr Hilary said that the new antibody tests do not give a false negative, meaning they will never show someone does not have the virus if they do have it, or have had it.
They will also show whether someone has already recovered from the virus and if they are immune. They will indicate how long someone will be immune from the illness
