A devastated mum has told how her baby son died in her arms after contracting the rare childhood illness which is being linked to Covid-19.
Tot Alexander Parsons was only eight-months-old when he passed away and he is believed to be the youngest victim of Kawasaki disease.
Medics think the inflammatory condition could be triggered by a reaction to coronavirus and have named it PIMS-TS. Child health professor Russell Viner, President of the Royal College of Paediatrics, was so worried he wrote to the NHS about the danger on April 25 – the day Alex died.
Alex had no underlying health conditions and was pictured smiling and playing just two hours before suffering a ruptured aneurysm, reports the Mirror.
