The number of new fatal coronavirus cases in hospitals has fallen to 368 in England, Scotland and Wales. It is less than half the number recorded the previous day (Saturday) across the whole of the UK - 813.
Figures for Northern Ireland are not yet available, but will be released later. Politicians have urged some caution over the latest daily figures, stressing deaths registered at the weekend tend to be relatively low.
There are fewer staff working Saturday and Sundays, which can lead to the numbers being lower. NHS England said a further 336 people have died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus, bringing the total hospital deaths in England to 18,420 - although the UK-wide total in hospitals passed 20,000 on Saturday.
