Boohoo has apologised and ended the sale of their fashion face masks following a complaint made by an NHS nurse. The nurse, who wishes to remain anonymous, slammed the retailer for selling "useless fashion masks" at a time when healthcare workers have expressed fears over the lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) when treating coronavirus patients.

Speaking to The Sun, she said she found it "disgusting" that the Manchester brand had turned "PPE into a fashion statement that offers no use to the public".

The bandana-like coverings, each bearing a coronavirus-related slogan, were being sold for £5, with some of the range on sale at 20 percent off.
