Bolton on Friday morning - a day after millions across the region learned they would remain under Tier 3 restrictions over Christmas.

Making the announcement yesterday, Health Secretary Matt Hancock called on people living in Tier 3 areas to 'pull together' to get out of the measures.

It is the latest example of what many here perceive to be an ongoing government narrative blaming the people of Greater Manchester for the situation they face.

After deciding against lifting coronavirus restrictions in Bolton and Trafford back in September, Mr Hancock urged people in those areas to 'work together' and 'play their part by following the rules'.
