Boris Johnson’s defence of Dominic Cummings is an “insult” the sacrifices made by the British people during the coronavirus lockdown, Keir Starmer has said.
The Labour leader was responding to Prime Minister’s brazen backing of his chief aide, amid mounting pressure to sack him for breaking lockdown rules.
He said: “This was a test of the Prime Minister and he has failed it. “It is an insult to sacrifices made by the British people that Boris Johnson has chosen to take no action against Dominic Cummings.” The Mirror revealed on Friday that Mr Cummings had travelled more than 250 miles to a Durham hideaway owned by his parents after his wife fell ill with coronavirus symptoms.
