St Patrick's Athletic have been forced to temporarily lay off its playing and coaching staff, according to a statement from the League of Ireland club.

The coronavirus pandemic has practically ended all sport in Ireland and there is no indication when domestic soccer will get back up and running, with the Government yesterday saying that there would be no gatherings of more than 5,000 people permitted before September.

The Dublin-based club said: "It is with considerable regret that the Board of St Patrick's Athletic FC, following extensive deliberation, announces that as of today it has been left with no option but to temporarily lay off its playing and coaching staff.  "The Board has carefully considered statements made over recent days
