The coronavirus death toll has passed 10,000 in the UK as health officials announced a further 737 deaths since yesterday. The total number of people who have died in UK hospitals after contracting coronavirus has risen to 10,612 from 9,875 in the last 24 hours.
More than 352,000 tests have now been carried out, of which 84,279 have come back positive. The latest update from the Department of Health reads: "As of 9am 12 April, 352,974 tests have concluded, with 18,000 tests on 11 April.282,374 people have been tested of which 84,279 tested positive.
