Roy Keane again expressed his bitter resentment towards Sir Alex Ferguson over his departure from Manchester United in a diatribe about proposed players' wage cuts.
Keane criticised top-tier clubs for attempting to impose 'nonsense' pay deferrals on players amid the coronavirus pandemic after the Premier League had called for players to take a 30 per cent cut.
The health secretary Matt Hancock also said Premier League footballers should 'take a pay cut and play their part'. Premier League players set up the #PlayersTogether initiative to raise funds for the National Health Service but Keane said he 'wouldn't take a pay cut from anybody if I was at one of the bigger clubs'.
