Coveney: Young people ignoring crisis endanger others

Tánaiste Simon Coveney has launched a scathing attack on young people who are ignoring social distancing recommendations and called on members of the public to confront individuals who are not taking Covid-19 seriously.

Speaking in the Seanad, he said: "Social distancing matters, it is not a theory, it is a protection and we need to confront our families and our peers and our communities to make sure everybody takes that seriously.

If we do we will save lives, thousands of them." Mr Coveney said vulnerable people were our friends, our grandparents, our childrens and our cousins.
