Up until a couple of weeks ago, Captain Tom Moore was simply amazing for being a 99-year-old war veteran approaching his 100th birthday.
Now, he is an inspiration and hero to many after his simple fundraising efforts became an epic success. Mr Moore set out to raise £1,000 for the NHS by completing 100 laps of his garden.
But he has done much more than that. Captain Tom has now raised more than £28m for NHS Charities Together and picked up a Pride of Britain award in the process.
He was given the special recognition on Thursday live on Good Morning Britain by awards host and supporter Carol Vorderman after thousands of nominations flooded in.
