Donald Trump has revealed the USA will not foot Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's security bill, which is estimated to be around £8m.

The president said the couple will have to pay for their own protection having left Canada - where they moved after stepping down from royal duty in the UK - for the States.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be full-time royals come Wednesday next week and will lose their HRH titles, as reported by The Mirror.

Their move south from their temporary home on Vancouver Island means they will no longer enjoy protection from the Royal Mounted Police funded by Canadian taxpayers.
