The impact of the pandemic has raised the risk of terror attacks, with a “spectacular” like 9/11 also likely, a security expert warns.
Retired Army Brigadier Ed Butler warns 2021 could be as bad as 2017, when there were five attacks in the UK, including the Manchester Arena.
He said: “The impact of Covid from an economic, health and social perspective, the disaffected, marginalised and extreme politicalisation we’re seeing, these pressures build up.
