A four-day-old baby has become the youngest victim to die with coronavirus in Brazil. The baby, who has not been identified, died in the city of Natal after being born prematurely in the early hours of April 3, the Municipal Health Department said.
Local media say the baby's mother was diabetic and was suffering from obesity, hypertension and a respiratory syndrome which has not yet been diagnosed.
After birth, the baby was said to be suffering from respiratory problems also and as kept in the neonatal intensive care unit.
While the baby tested positive for the virus, health officials said they are investigating whether Covid-19 was the direct cause. Follow all coronavirus updates on our live blog here Johns Hopkins University says Brazil
