Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Good Morning Britain fans have been left worried as Piers Morgan was replaced on the show today over coronavirus fears. The GMB presenter was replaced by co-star Ben Shephard on the ITV programme today, as he hosted it with Piers' regular co-host Susanna Reid.

Piers told fans yesterday he would be missing the show today as he was being tested for Covid-19. Writing on Twitter, he said: "On medical advice, and out of an abundance of caution for a mild symptom that arose in past 48hrs, I’ve had a test for COVID-19 and so won’t be working on @GMB until I get the result back, which should be tomorrow." Fans seemed to be worried for the star, as one replied: "Take care.
