Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has revealed how he’s received calls for him to be sacked and death threats over his questioning of the government during the coronavirus pandemic.The Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, has been criticising the government over their handling of the pandemic, with some branding his questioning “harsh” and “combative”.

However, Piers has hit back at trolls who have called for him to lose his job after a campaign was started calling for him to be “removed” from Good Morning Britain.

Taking to Twitter, Piers wrote: “Memo to trolls: the more you try to silence me with foul-mouthed abuse, death threats & petitions for me to be fired, the louder & harder I will challenge the Govt over its handling of this crisis.
