Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Good Morning Britain 's Piers Morgan quizzed Andrew John Street, Mayor of the West Midlands, over care home deaths on the show today.

Piers was seen asking Street about the amount of care home deaths during the coronavirus pandemic and whether the government made a mistake in not putting proper restrictions on visitors at the early stage of the pandemic.

Starting off, Piers asked about the government in general, as he probed Street: "Why is your government lying to people. Do you not find it embarrassing and shameful?" Street wouldn't answer and said he was responsible for what went on in the West Midlands only.
