Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Things got heated between a Good Morning Britain guest and Piers Morgan on the ITV show today. Piers, who had Susanna Reid back alongside him on the show today, told a GMB guest to "stop talking" and told him he was "irritating" in a fiery clash over coronavirus.

The guest, named Peter, said he thought the lockdown measures were too extreme, saying people were being "imprisoned" and that it was recking businesses and the economy.

Piers, 55, has been very vocal online and on GMB that he thinks the complete opposite and that people need to take the threat of coronavirus seriously.
