Care bosses have accused ministers of a “shambolic” attempt to supply frontline workers with personal protective equipment. Leaders from the industry said they were receiving only “paltry” and “haphazard” deliveries of lifesaving items such as masks, gloves and gowns.
It added that carers have been forced to go without such items while they have been mandatory for all healthcare workers. Meanwhile, NHS staff have taken part in protests to highlight the failings in PPE provision and are calling on Health Secretary Matt Hancock to resign.
They launched a protest on social media yesterday, backed by campaign group Keep Our NHS Public, to coincide with the 8pm Clap for our Carers. Do you have a coronavirus story?
