Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said groups of six people will be able to meet up in parks and private gardens from Monday as he confirmed the next steps for easing lockdown measures.

The PM announced the next steps in easing the country's coronavirus lockdown rules at the daily briefing. He said this is a result of the UK currently meeting its "five tests" to ease lockdown measures around schools, retail and social contact from Monday.

The government has always maintained that the next steps will be subject to the "five tests" - particularly ensuring no action that is taken increases the infection rate, which could risk a second peak of infections which might overwhelm the NHS.
