The Health Secretary Matt Hancock has tested positive for coronavirus. He said he was tested after he developed symptoms on Wednesday night and is now self-isolating.
He will continue to work from home. Mr Hancock tweeted: "Following medical advice, I was advised to test for Coronavirus. I've tested positive. "Thankfully my symptoms are mild and I'm working from home & self-isolating.
Vital we follow the advice to protect our NHS & save lives." It comes after it was revealed that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus and is self-isolating in Downing St.
As Health Secretary Mr Hancock is a key figure in the government's response - and has led on the NHS and social care response to the crisis.
