Rod Stewart has given an update on his health, which comes as he worried fans after hinting that his 'days are numbered' following a strep throat, and subsequent diagnosis of Covid. The 79-year-old's health issues meant that he was forced to cancel a string of gigs in the US last week, including a monumental 200th concert in Las Vegas, which has been postponed until next year in 2025.Announcing the news, the Maggie May rocker wrote: "Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me.
I'm absolutely gutted. I've been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused.
Thankfully we'll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there."Following fans' concerns, Rod was forced to clarify his remarks about having 'numbered days' as he quashed any concerns over his health. "When I said 'My days are numbered,' it was purely in jest.
Aren't everybody's days numbered? I am in embarrassingly wonderful health and enjoying life to the full. I am not dying as far as I know," he told The Sun.However the singer has faced various health battles over the years, including more than one cancer diagnosis which left him losing his voice at one point. The rock and roll legend was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000 and later underwent surgery to remove a tumour.
