ITV CBB's Louis Walsh reveals medics were rushed in to treat him after medical emergency

Louis Walsh has revealed he was treated by medics in the Celebrity Big Brother house after suffering from anxiety and panic attacks.

The 71-year-old revealed that he had to be given medication to calm down as he suffered from insomnia and struggled to sleep.The star told The Sun: “We weren’t allowed to get up and do anything if we woke up in the night so I’d wake at 3, 4 in the morning, and just lie there in the dark, worrying about things. "Worrying about my mother, my health, what I had said that day - for the first time ever, I suffered from anxiety.” Louis revealed that he was given ‘prescription sleeping pills’ but after they wore off he would wake up ‘in a panic.’ “There are medics on-call 24/7, and they were brilliant.They spoke to me and calmed me down after I started having a panic attack and they really helped calm me down,” he added.

The star also mentioned that he had to speak to psychotherapists while in the house in order to cope.The Irish music mogul finished in fourth place on the show – despite being the favourite to win.

As he was joined by hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, he told them exactly how he felt about his time on the show, simply stating: "It is scary." Hinting at his struggles, he added: "It's scary in there."
