BENGALURU: Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Wednesday said he will donate his entire year's salary for the battle against the novel coronavirus (covid-19). “I will donate my one year’s salary to the chief minister's relief fund covid-19," he said in a video message posted on micro-blogging and social networking website Twitter.
He also appealed to ministers, legislators, parliamentarians and other officials to donate as much as possible to help fight with the virus that has so far left three dead and infected 101 persons in Karnataka alone.
The chief minister's gesture comes amid calls by Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking citizens to donate to his relief fund PM-CARES to combat the outbreak in the country.
