Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Kate Garraway 's Good Morning Britain co-stars Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid sent birthday wishes to the star amid her husband's battle with coronavirus.

TV presenter Ben, 45, sat alongside Susanna, 49, on Monday as he wished Kate a happy 53rd birthday and updated viewers on Derek's condition with the illness.

Filling in for Piers Morgan, who is self-isolating at home after showing symptoms of the virus, Ben said: "We want to say a happy birthday to Kate, who turns forty thirteen today." He explained Kate is with her family as Derek is still "critically ill" in hospital with the bug. "She's with her family, of course, keeping everything crossed because Derek is still critically ill," Ben updated viewers. "We just want to say happy birthday
